The Helsinki-based British photographer Andrew Taylor and I traveled to the Kolovesi National Park to do a travel story for the SUITCASE Magazine. It was published in issue #34 and titled “Where the Wild Things Are”.
“In a world that’s getting smaller, going off-grid amid ancient forests punctuated by glassy lakes feels like a vital “reset”. A crucial reminder that there is so much more to life than the man-made. Wilderness living bestows a kind of energy that can’t be bottled. On returning home, I find I have a new appreciation for taking it slow; and I’m conscious of being in the moment more. That is, perhaps, the most valuable souvenir.”
